Well-respected consultant/advisor Dr. Jean Houston is known for her work with the United Nations, the Dalai Lama, past presidents and first ladies, corporations, and government agencies. She has taught and spoken at many colleges world-wide, and she is also a past president of the Association of Humanistic Psychology.

Jean and her husband, Dr. Robert Masters, founded the Foundation for Mind Research together more than 40 years ago. Jean is also a principal teacher at The Mystery School, which she founded over 25 years ago. The Mystery School is known for teaching mystic and spiritual studies.

Some of Dr. Houstons 25 published books include Jump Time, A Mythic Life: Learning to Live Our Greater Story, The Search for the Beloved, Mystical Dogs: Animals as Guides to Our Inner Life, and Women of Wisdom: Empowering the Dreams and Spirit of Women.

Jean Houstons childhood was very different from most of the children of her time. By age 12, she had already attended over 20 schools throughout the nation. Back in the 1940s and 1950s, there was no standard like there is today, so schools in the deep South were drastically different from those in the North or East.

Dr. Houstons father was a comedy writer, so she had to travel quite a bit as a child. He wrote for famous comedians like Bob Hope. Jean began to realize that the fire she saw in her peers eyes one year would be extinguished when she returned to the same school years later. This made her passionate for change.

Two experiences played a major role in shaping Jean Houstons life. Without them, who knows where she would be today? First, she recalls an encounter with a ventriloquist, Edgar Bergen, and his dummy, Charlie McCarthy. Edgar many times would ask Charlie questions like, What is love? and What is the meaning of life?

What caught Jeans attention was the conversation her father had with Edgar. Edgar knew that everything Charlie said was coming from his brain (because Charlie isnt real), but he still insisted that he had no idea what Charlie would say until he said it. It was like another brilliant dimension of reality.

A visit with Helen Keller is the second experience that would help shape Jeans future. As most people know, Helen was born both blind and deaf. She overcame this disability with the help of a loyal teacher. When asked how she could possibly be so happy, Keller told Jean that she lived each day as if it would be her last. Life and all of its moments are so full of glory.

Do you have a intense interest for whats possible? Do you want to know beyond a doubt which opportunities will be the ones you can follow through on successfully? Dr. Jean Houston can show you. Listen to the Dr. Jean Houston interview today!
