When you for the first time are overwhelmed by an anxiety panic attack, you have no clue what happens. It shuts you down completely. You experience all kind of physical symptoms like a racing heart, your stomach speaks up, sweating all over your body, insomnia and many more. Although you say to yourself that there is not any real danger, this does not put an end to the panic attack. You can not rationalize it to stop. It is like a mystic force that has taken over control of your body.
Anxiety may develop at any age in a person's development. Many times when it develops in adults it is following some type of trauma. This is often referred to as post traumatic stress disorder. This disorder is quite complex and takes a different approach than dealing with the treatment of anxiety. Many members of the military develop post traumatic stress disorder as a result to exposure to intense military action. For them anxiety is one of many complicated symptoms.
Unfortunately, nothing I have done has made the anxiety panic attacks go away. I have tried all kinds of anxiety treatments. I was diagnosed with anxiety panic disorder by a doctor who initially prescribed sedatives for me. Initially, these sedatives made my anxiety panic attacks better, but the effect only lasted for so long. Soon, I became completely dependent on them. When I was off them, I would begin to have attacks of anxiety again almost immediately.
I don't know about you, but anxiety support groups have offered me not much relief. It is nice that you have a place where you can meet with fellow victims and can share your frustrations. But when you go home at the end of the evening, your anxiety disorder had not been cured by talking with other members of the support group. It is makes you feel good for a while, knowing that you are not the only one and there is no reason to be ashamed.
For some people herbs are helpful. Nevertheless the products I tried turned out to be sedative, but are helpful in getting your anxiety attacks under control. Others apply meditation. It offers a relief but once in a while the attack still comes back. Hopefully through the combination of different strategies, I will be able in the long run to lead a normal life. Currently I am exploring a new method that addresses directly the organ that triggers the attacks. I read several reviews that give me a lot of hope to put finally an end to my panic attacks.
